Totally free Experian credit report

 I am NOT Experian but a reasonably easy way to find out who they are, what they do, and how to contact Experian quickly and effectively.

• Experian Online disputes? You must buy a report from Experian and have a customer number. Same for the other 2 bureaus.
• What is the phone number, fax  number or address for Experian? 
  Answer: Use the mail because calling a bureaus’ computerized phone system is more frustrating and less secure than certified priority mail as recommended by the FTC
• There are 3 credit reporting bureau’s (Experian, TransUnion and Equifax) that store my credit repayment habits, files and scores. All three bureaus are likely to have different data so I make sure I have all of my credit reports and scores.
•  If I have a dispute or I do not have an address or phone number for a creditor I should print the official and legal dispute form free. Instruction on form.
•  I make educated decisions as to what steps I should take to raise my credit score fast. 
•  A 2002 study by the Consumer Federation of America estimated that tens of millions of Americans are unfairly penalized for incorrect information in their credit reports. More recently, a 2004 study by the U.S. Public Interest Research Group found that one in four credit reports contained errors serious enough to cause consumers to be denied credit, housing, or even a job.

 I rebuilt my bad credit report and low FICO score, with the Experian credit bureau by getting a credit report online then disputing redated accounts, duplicate or merged accounts and rouge creditor practices. Mail is the quickest most efficient, verifiable way to rebuild credit reports with the 3 bureaus. Some credit can't be rebuilt. 

• The Experian Company Inc. maintains records of my credit history sent to them by creditors like Visa credit cards. Most people have credit files with Experian and they use the FICO Score system which is like the Beacon and Empirica credit scores. These scores can dramatically affect my ability to obtain loans, insurance, jobs, bank accounts and credit cards.
• Experian can only report what is sent to them buy creditors which can be mistake riddled with credit fraud, duplicate files, merged files between family members with the same name and MORE. So it is not all their fault. Creditors and collection agencies can report anything they want and the bureau has to report it as such. Many times Experian is held hostage unless I free them.
• Remember Experian is an enormous corporation that must keep records on 100+ million people with many creditors each. Such a huge undertaking requiring such security makes individual phone calls unrealistic. At the very least the shear size makes keeping perfect records and oversite also unrealistic. Individuals must take active care to make sure their credit reports are accurate and up to date.

 I can call or email Bo for credit help if I like, but I make sure I have a copy of my report and I've read Bo's tips before I call. Everyone should get a copy of their report each year for the reasons stated above, to avoid possible embarrassment, possible higher interest rates, identity fraud and I always, dispute merged, fraud, duplicate, re dated and inaccurate files with all 3 bureaus.
